    Speedo App for Smartphones

Been using this app for about a year now. Very nice gps speedo app from Binarytoys. Originally got this on my bike because the stock speedo was in kph and I cant think in metric. Has a bunch of cool stuff, compass, average speed, top speed ect... Any of you guys with older model bikes or Euro bikes like mine that read in metric, this could be just what you need.

    App Link: http://binarytoys.blogspot.com/

I love the fact your bike says "cold" in the digital readout!

Just make sure you have a spare battery to toss into the phone once it dies. I cannot imagine how much this app would drain the phone with the GPS use.

That or have a charger wired wired into the bike.

Got mine hard wired into the bike, costs about 12 bucks for the cigarette lighter socket, wire and fusible link at Radio shack.

Thought about going with a GPS unit, (Garmin), but I have GPS maps on my phone, music..., so this free app was a no brainer for me.

Yeah, the dash readout says cold, its a 2 stroke, its there for idiots like me that need a reminder to let the bike get up to temp to avoid a cold seizure

    Re: Speedo App for Smartphones

I have a Droid X with the same mount and I use a RAM mount connected to my handlebars with power wired to a cigarette adapter wired directly to my battery under my seat.
I have found that for now when shut the bike off, I need to disconnect the power adapter. I am going to get a relay and wire it in so that it will automatically turn it off when I turn off the key.

    I also use this Torque
with this PLX Kiwi ODBII WiFi Device.

I find that the volumes of information to be very facinating and I already paid for the device reading the codes on my car.
