Sport Bike on 4x6 trailer with gate?

As the title asks, is it possible to tow with a 4x6 landscape trailer with a gate? I am going to check one out tonight.

    TIA

I see... I'll have to measure mine out before I take the plunge.

If it has a Gate make sure your measure from the Front of the tire to The rear of the tire. With the gate you have no room for overhang.

Right, that's what I was worried about. I have a feeling it'll be cutting it close.

My Gsxr will not fit in my 6 1/2 ft pickup with the gate closed.

6ft long should be fine. I rent uhaul 4x7 for trackdays and there's definitely a foot left from rear tire to the gate.

Re: Sport Bike on 4x6 trailer with gate?

Well after measuring everything up, it looks like 4x6 with a gate is a bit too small. I think 7 feet is the minimum you'd want unless you are up for parking the thing diagonally but that wouldn't look so cool.

most of sportbikes are around 7' long, but that depends a lot on what kind(I mean size) of tires you have and how far back is the rear axle in the swingarm

Re: Sport Bike on 4x6 trailer with gate?

I got a 4x6 from Tractor Supply Company in NH last summer and it fits my bandit perfectly. THe other two bikes are too long, so I got some length of chain, some eyebolts and chain the gate in a mostly upright position when the other two bikes are in the trailer. It's worked out well and hasn't moved an inch since I got it.

Re: Sport Bike on 4x6 trailer with gate?

It was close with my 750 but once I added a front wheel chock there was no way. If the gate is removable you can still pull it off by extending the length slightly with 2x6s and adding your own ramp. I ripped an angle into the 2x6s which forms a nice channel to keep your rear wheel planted.
