The sad part is that she is still lying about it. How much remorse can you possibly have if you are still more concerned with covering up than the fact that someone is dead because of your actions.

Re: Woman found guilty in 'nail polish' crash

Yesterday I saw 2 women doing their makeup while driving. One was in the morning doing the eye stuff in the mirror. The other was putting on some lotion or cream on her face.

I did notice that both had pretty banged up front ends. One had a mirror held on with bright green tape. I was thinking all the damage happened the last time they were doing that.

Family members of the deceased Lake Zurich woman said they will not celebrate the verdict but will use it as an opportunity to make more people aware of the dangers of distracted driving.

"There are no winners today," he said. "There is no celebration, or happiness."
I am ever so grateful that none of the really stupid things I have done in my life have ended as badly as this has for all involved. There but for the Grace of God...

It amazes me the things people do while driving a vehicle. Driving a car is not an afterthought, people treat it as such though. Makes me furious.

...this is a lot like the drunk drivers who kill people and end up with community service and a few years probation...because yeah, that totally makes up for you wiping out someone's family....

It's about time someone got nailed for this shit. You see it all the time in Boston traffic. Women with the visor down, looking at the mirror, putting makeup on.

In addition to the 5 years they should pull her fingernails off with pliers..at least then she won't paint them again

here is a perfect case to return to the times of "eye for an eye" If you could not just throw money at a problem and have lawyers argue it away. I guarantee it, you'd see a new level of responsibility from people on the road and everywhere else.
