    New member of the stable

Well...finally found my 3rd bike and luckily was able to snag a bucket list bike of mine. 2012 8V Moto Guzzi Griso SE in Tenni Green.

Been lusting after this one for years.

Always wanted to ride a Moto Guzzi just to see how a transverse v-twin feels. Nice score, it's beautiful!

I'm gonna guess it's an homage to their old racers. If I remember, they were always green WAY back in the day (well before my time).

Also on my bucket list - beautiful example. Looks like an aftermarket exhaust. Enjoy the Italian power cruiser!

They stopped making them in 2016 I believe. Bike came with a low mount and the stock exhaust as well. I had to jump on this one because the green is the color I have been looking for forever. Thing is in amazing condition. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Lusted after these when I saw them in dealerships, and always wondered whether the ride could possibly live up to the great styling. Congrats!

Re: New member of the stable

I liked the handling of my Griso 1100. The fully adjustable Showas performed well with good comfort. Excellent brakes. It's a very long bike, and not light. Sometimes I felt like I was along for the ride rather than riding it. It's a long reach to the handlebar. I changed the bar to ProTaper Contour Raptor, per a post on guzzitech, that improved the ride for me. And tires, of course, the right tires made all the difference.

I hear you. tip in seems a bit heavy, thinking it could use a proper geometry set up. interesting on the bars, definitely noticed the reach

Re: New member of the stable

Took her out yesterday and she rode pretty jerky, seemed like the fueling was off. Put on a fender eliminator today and with the reposition of the signals they were touching the high mount exhaust. So I removed high high mount exhaust and put on the low second exhaust it came with and voila, runs as smooth as silk now! This engine is awesome! I rather like the look of the low mount as well, and it has no baffle, unlike the high mount, sounds AMAZING. A bit loud, but amazing.

Also made some changes to the PO’s setup. raised the forks a bit, set the compression and rebound back to stock. Rides very well over smooth pavement, doesn’t soak up the bumps great. Need to dial it in and at the Very least get some new springs.
