    STOLEN BIKE ALERT!! Essex, Vermont

I just got a call that one of the guys in the army with me got his bike stolen last night. Right out of the front of a friends house.

It is a Black 2008 Yamaha R6. The description I got was it had an undertail exhaust, frame sliders and some fairing scratches in the right side.

Keep an eye out and if you see it contact the cops ASAP.

More info to come as I get it.

Kidding aside, you'd think in Vermont this type of thing doesn't happen. Thats sucks. I hope your bud gets it back...

yea-up...bout 6 bikes got stolen last year by a couple guys, and some people I know have ears out in the "bad" parts of VT...ended up finding an add for one of the bikes, a TL1000R...guy who was sellin the bikes got his ass handed to him bad, and the bikes all mad it back to their owners...good luck with the recovery effort...I wish we had LoJack round here...

They need something like an amber alert for bikes! You can’t trust anyone anymore!

What can be expected of the stolen bike? (VT compared to a larger city?)
Would it leave the state? Broken up?

I think the crooks would have plans already?

its too bad that we'd have to resort to throwing a chain & padlock around a tree at night. ..

most likely these bikes would be stripped and sold as OEM parts.

there's a good chance this bike is headed to Canada.

A lot of stolen vehicles head up there, and then shipped out.

Damn I'll keep my eyes out, another bike was stolen in Winooski a few days ago. Green Kawasaki 650 dual purpose bike I believe was the other one.

Not really. Throw it in a trailer or break it down into pieces and sell it for parts. Its easier with motorcycles and bicycles than cars.

    Don't get any ideas though....

Welll, I am Canadian and if I cross the border into Quebec I can ham it up in french with all the cute female border agents. Why then would they look in the trailer?

Seriously I'd hate to think with all the pickings in Montreal that a bike down here would get ripped off and sent to Canada.
