    Storing Riding Gear In Garage?

I just moved from an apartment with lots of interior storage and a tiny garage to a place with a large garage and not much interior storage (moving in with the lady doesn't exactly help either). What's a good way to keep my gear in the garage (primarily my race suit and various jackets) without getting dusty or unwanted insect guests in them?

Was thinking about one of these:

    any suggestions? thanks!

I have mine in an ikea wardrobe that's been evicted from my bedroom. Makes for a decent canvas for product stickers too.

My wife gets the walk in closet. I get the office... I'm running out of space.

I've been told that keeping motorcycle gear, especially helmets, in a garage space with oil and fuel fumes is a bad idea.
I have no idea if those telling me that are uptight uber safety nazis or not.
My daily rider helmet is typically stored on the parcel rack on the bike in the garage.

In the interest of playing devils advocate: Why enclosed? To keep the dust and the crap and the critters off the stuff.

its not the insects and gas, its the mouse piss and crap that makes me not want to store anything I wear out there.

how about a bag for everything?

for the leathers and jackets - get one of those big coat hangers so the jacket hangs properly. Fold the pants on said hanger, then use one of those zip-up suit bags and hang it up. It won't seal out completely, but maybe ventilation will keep it dry

helmet - helmet bag from cyclegear

boots and gloves - gear bag from cyclegar:

Dirt stuff is in a rubbermaid tub in th garage. ( after they are cleaned) street stuff, hall closet and leathers hang in the basement. My helmets are on my desk in the office. I wouldn't hesitate a locker like the op suggested. I would add moth balls to help keep out the critters and keep it closed tight. My buddy bought a row of three old HS lockers for his shit.

So where are the bikes? Too bad the LL won't let you use the garage.

Do you cover it with anything? Any issues with bugs, dust, etc?

Re: Storing Riding Gear In Garage?

I store all my riding gear out in our storage shed (we live in an apartment) hanging from large nails off the ground. In the 4 years I've been hanging them there, I have never once had bugs or mice or anything like that in my gear.
