Price check aisle 7.
Found on another forum.
Asking price is $9K compared to $10K or more locally, but I don't know what the "cash in hand" price is.
Its 2007
Street bob
under 2,500 miles
Denim Black - (never have to wax a rag and windex is all you need to clean)
Has forward controls on it
The harley Diamond Black Collection pegs/shifters/passenger rests/handgrips
11.5in Black Progressive Springs
Fat drag bar (black) and the 5 in black risers7.
the 07 was the last year before they started with the integrated risers
Will also throw in a FXRG Large Jacket (this is the one where you can put plates in and out)
a dot carbon fiber polo style half helmet medium
a rf1100 shoei helmet Medium (worn 4 times by an extremely clean person Me)
Original mini ape bars
passenger pillon
original springs
It has V&H Short Shots Black
Power Commander
and panacea rear smoked rear tailight
Debadged as well
2007 gives you the 96" motor and the 6 speed transmission along with non intergrated handlebar risers (meaning you can change them without changing the top tree, that changed in 2008). The blacked out motor is more desireable by most then the silver motor that came in later years. If somehow they didn't dick around with the wiring when changing the bars, that would be good, otherwise, just make sure it was a quality job. The 2007 pricing was about $1000 more then 2008 if I remember correctly, but that wouldn't effect the resale value, and would only bring objections like "but I paid $14,XXX for it". 2500 miles is really good. Debadged, I am not a fan of, but they could be easily replaced. Black Denim is a very tough finish, doesn't scratch easy.
Good luck with your offer.
Haven't made an offer because I have no clue if that's at all reasonable.
NADA lists low retail as $8005 and average retail as $9570. KBB lists trade value as $7890 and retail as $10750. KBB has always been on the high side with there retail values, especially since you can get a new FXDB for $13000.
If the bike wasn't messed around with, and was completely stock (or had the mods that you planned on doing anyway) I would say that the $9000 is a good deal. If he is advertising $9000, try offering $8500.
Well, change of plans. This bike showed up on another forum for a stupid good price, so I bought it.
2005 Harley Sportster 1200 Roadster. Came with two seats, alarm, cover, 1,165 miles. I've been half-heartedly looking for an XR1200, but haven't seen one for sale privately locally so I'll play around with this for a while.
Emailed Mr. Kates to see what he has available for suspension upgrades. The lowered shocks need to go ASAP, and I want to do something about the fork damping.
Way to go. With the R you get both tach and speedo, and normal footpeg position.
And don't believe everything you think.
another member of this forum is selling a year old XR1200 that was purchased new and has very low miles on it, speeddemoncycles owner Rob R...... it's in the for sale section
Saw it.
The dealers are delusional, trying to sell them for $10K when they aren't reaching $7,500 Reserve prices on eBay.
I had a 2nd chance offer for a 2009 XR1200 last year for $7,500, but it was a four hour drive and just wasn;t worth it. I paid so little for this bike it doesn't matter.
i was this close >< to buying an 09 xr1200 for 7500 at monadnock harly. thats 1500 under blue book. think they just wanted rid of it.

Picked it up yesterday. I've got some stuff on order to make it a real motorcycle!
Fork brace
Ricor IAS shocks
Ricor Intiminator
Metzeler Me880's.
This bike spent a couple of years in Hawaii and the rims show some corrosion (the engine and everything else looks fine). Any commercial products that help clean them up? Or do I just need elbow grease?
Get some White Diamond polish works great.....and throw a GSXR 1000 front end on the HOg...
