Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
That Multi 950 is worth a look.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Talked to the guy with the Multi this morning. Probably going to take a look in person Monday night.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Good luck, looks like a sweet bike at a good deal :twothumb:

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Boom, registered.
$65 a year more than my brand new 890R. Insurance is strange.

my track-only R6 is on my insurance for liability only bc it lowers my policy by $100/year. I wonder if it's bc I put I ride it 0 miles per year :dunno:

Last year I had 3 street motorcycles on my policy:
-Honda 919
-Suzuki DR650
-Kawasaki KDX220
After I sold the KDX, I called them up to remove it from my policy.
My total annual premium INCREASED about $7 per year.
I asked, um what, are you sure?
Apparently the algorithm factored in that 1/3 of my riding time was spent on a 220cc bike.
Now my riding will be 50% on a 919cc bike, and 50% on a 650cc bike.
Less bikes, but more cc’s = higher risk factor.
I didn’t bother trying to explain to them that I was absolutely way more scared for mine and everyone else’s safety while riding that 220cc smoker.

50% scam, 50% business

Just got my policy renewal. The premium is higher for the '96 DR350 than the '01 ZRX1200.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Givi windscreen on the way. Shorty Puig is nice but not enough wind protection for munching highway miles to Boston every week.
New tires that I got included with it are Avon AV53's. Gotta do some research on them before I mount'em up.

Trailriders make for fine road tires. They grip well, are predictable, but don't last very long. I think I got 3k miles out a rear on my 1290 on a trip to NC and back.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Reviews seem to indicate very good street manners and performance. That's good, only 10 minutes of my commute is on dirt. I'll mount them.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
How does that 950 feel on the dirt section?
I've only thrown a leg over one of those in a dealer showroom, and was surprised by how large it felt.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
I'll let you know once I ride it. Only took it out on pavement for a short test drive before I bought it.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Need a 36mm socket to loosen the rear axle nut.

36mm should be available at any auto parts store. I think they are used on the axle shaft of most import autos. We use them here where I work and have discovered the easiest place to get them is auto part stores.

Re: Street/commuter/ADV ride
Turns out my Dad has one, but it's not a 12 point. I'll give it a try before heading to the local Autozone which has a 12 point.
