2 Tickets in one month!!!

Ok guys I've been driving now for like 8 years and in those 8 years I've only gotten one ticket and it was for an expired inspection sticker.

OK well someone must really hate me upstairs because just this month alone I've managed to get a ticket for speeding (50 in a 30), and a ticket for not wearing my seat belt. WTF!!!!!!!

Now in Mass there is a law that says if you get 3 citations in a 12 month period you get your license suspended for 30 days.

Now my question is what type of citations do the 3 have to be? I ask this because you can get all different types of citations. So since I got one for speeding and one for not wearing a seat belt do you guys think the one for not wearing a seat belt will count towards a suspension if i get a third one?

Looks like I have to drive like an old person for the next 12 months!

This site says that the citations have to be three "speeding" citations. So my seat belt citation shouldn't count towards that.

Also remember it's if you PAY three citations in a 12 month period, so if you appeal and win those don't count...

I've had the Commonwealth of MA deem me a "problamatic driver", and had them send me to "driver retraining school", not one, but TWICE. I dont think the seatbealt issue will cont toward those 3 strikes, however.

Written warnings will also count to that "3" count. Some will give you a written warning if they know that you may have a connection to get the ticket fixed. Written warnings go to the registry not the courts. Had a boss at one time that was a local cop and he had an individual that would constantly get the ticket fixed. Wrote him for warnings after that and got him that way.

Also I believe it's a rolling 12 month period. If you get a ticket now don't get two more before this time next year.

OK everyone is saying different things so I'm not too sure what the deal is. I left a voicemail with my local police department to get verification on the actual law and to find out if my second citation will count as a strike against me.

I have to disagree on this one, I use to drive like an idiot, must have got 6 tickets/written warnings in a year...appealed the tickets got out of them, never a suspension or letters from the registry...

It's three convictions in one year...

Mandatory License Suspensions
is three (3) speeding violations convictions within any one (1) year period.

This is the way it was in years past, unless ofcourse the law has changed...
