street riding - NTEC take offs

i've been using my Conti take offs for 2 years on my street bike & they've always been fine in cold & wet riding.

I switched to Dunlop mid season last year & i need new tires for my street bike.

i'm hearing terrible things about NTECs in the cold & i'm wondering if anyone else uses them for the street in colder temps (40 degrees and higher).

dunlop + cold pavement (ex: under 70 degrees)= slip and slide.

i love dunlops but just not on the street. even when i was in AZ when it was under 70 degrees the first few corners i could spin up the rear on my 650. N-tecs would be even worse, they need to be hot, otherwise they are like riding on ice

I rode at a track day with no warmers and maybe it was my, maybe it was because I'm not us to my 748 anymore but I felt like it was trying to crash. couple laps we were fine. Same thing after lunch. I wasn't trying to go fast, I was doing follow the leader but I though I was going down in the bowl. I just slipped out. I tip toed a couple laps then things felt normal. Maybe I'm crazy but I would not run them as take-offs.

Yeah. Its bad enough using them at track days without warmers. Never on a street bike.

No. I wouldn't use them. I have on a street bike and it would spin up under acceleration. Not a good idea.

I almost crashed just pitting out on KB's bike one time. Cold dunlop DOTs REALLY are NOT a tire I would use on the street in colder weather.

yup same here. No warmers on Dunlop race tires SUCK. I've thought of running them on the street if I ever put my street bike back on the road but really not sure.

actually Smutty, it's about 1/2 results for and against.
i know how the Conti take-offs are in the cold, but never used Dunlop.
