Street Triple Shock Spring Swap

I weigh 157 lbs without gear.
For a Street Triple 2010 R, Race Tech recommends the following

FRONT FORK SPRINGS
Recommended Fork Spring Rate: 0.788 kg/mm (use closest available) - 0.85 available
Stock Fork Spring Rate: 0.9 kg/mm(stock)

REAR SHOCK SPRINGS
Recommended Shock Spring Rate: 11.425 kg/mm (use closest available) -11.6 available
Stock Shock Spring Rate: 12.6 kg/mm (stock)

Is it worth the upgrade ?
As an alternative would backing off pre-load help?

Depends on the use of the bike really. Do you have any issues with it as is?

suspension seems harsh on smaller bumps. I keep my hands real loose at all times but there are times I feel like the bumps might be causing me to change throttle input.

Yes, the suspension on these is a bit harsh. Softening the spring will help, but you could try taking out a LITLLE pre-load, and compression damping first.
