    streetfightered Bandit project

    Hello all...
This forum is pretty damn funny. Though i keep quiet and dont post much, i like reading on it. Anyway, Just thought i'd share What i've been up to.

I've been streetfightering my 2004 Suzuki Bandit 1200s

Welded up a new subframe with integrated tail light, new Egay front headlight, and i'm painting the tank, fiberglass tail, and possibly the front fender. Also shortened up the pipe just a bit.

The front forks, wheel, rotor, and calipers are from an 03 Honda 954. I'm just not sure if i like the look of the bike with or without the Front wheel fender. ps.. that 03 honda 954 is for sale or for parts.

Well, here are some pictures if you would like to check it out:

    before:

    Mid project:

And some ALMOST DONE pictures. Just primered... Needs some GLOSS black paint!

    WITH FRONT FENDER:

    without front fender:

Looking good man. It's nice when people share build up pics, even if it's only a few.

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys. Yes, the chode can is a little bit louder than the full size Yoshi, but when i cut it down, i wrapped the whole inner tube with steel wool and the outter layer of fiberglass. i'd say it's 10db's louder or so. Not as sharp and raspy as open pipes, but i like it.

And as for the Honda 954 having USD forks... do you mean US domestic? all i know is that they had the same fork tube diameter as my bandit, and they were the same inversion.

^ Here is a picture of the wrecked Parts bike i have (the honda 954), with my old bent forks on it

it's just waiting for paint! As soon as i get it glossy black and a few red pinstripes to match the truck and boat, it'll be all set! But till then, the fastenings wont be on yet. After this weekend i promise i'll have some more polaroids!!! Then no more sticks or pepsi cans to prop it up
Thanks again for the compliments guys!

New update!!! Had the whole thing finished... and was loading it on my truck... solo... bad idea

pushin it up the ramp cuz the battery was dead... 2nd bad idea

strike three... i can't push it all the way up myself cuz i only have one ramp... but i'm late for class and have to drive from RI to NH... So i give it one last HEAVE... and guess what... i pushed just enough to push it past the point of no return with me on one side of the ramp, and the majority of the 480lbs bike going the other way... It crashed off the ramp... 3 foot drop onto the handlebars, and dented the tank...

sO.. another week of bondo and paint went by... i made my own straight bars for it, and presto... brand new again!

Still need to paint the chain guard, rear rim, front fender, and swingarm.

    Damn man, pretty slick...

You see my brother lately? He's still riding, and recently picked up a helmet cam so I'm sure he's been up to some hooligan shit to get some footage

Holy shit.... that's fuckin' badass. I like it!

Leave the front fender off, looks better without.

Oh yeah, and get two 2x8's or 2x10's, along with those ramp-end kits you can buy from home depot (they hook onto the edge of the bed). One for you, one for the bike. Do it with the bike running, walk up one, clutch it up the other. No more crashie-crash.

    Looks sweeeet

If you haven't made a seat cushion yet then get memory foam from an aircraft supply place. I put memory foam on my bike last winter and it was a huge improvement from stock.

Yes they are... here's the bike i took them off of:

And thats my old front forks, wheel, caliper and rotor on the front of the 954 now.

They're not inverted forks, if that's what your talking about... but they are off of an 03 954.

And thanks for all the compliments guys

I agree with the others about the forks... both the 929rr and the 954rr had inverted forks on them stock.

what the hell?? that's weird... then what forks are on my bike? i took them off of that 954... the bike came from my friend, who said it was all stock with the exception of the slip on.

and the sticker on the frame says its an 03 954... might it be an older 954 with a new frame???

Yea man I dunno, unless your buddy had already swapped out the 954 forks with something else before you got the bike. Very possible you swapped out your Bandit forks for another set of Bandit forks

Well, he's on a Sub somewhere in the pacific, so i can't ask him right now haha. But they're deffinately not bandit forks! these have 4 cylinder nissen calipers, the 1200 bandits all use 6 cylinder tokico, but the 600's are 4cylinder tokicos...

mystery forks... They had that front fairing piece though... which looks like a honda fairing

The last blade to run conventional forks was the 900rr

But those had 16" front rims...Maybe an f3 or f4?

Post a pic of those in a separate thread to see if anyone can figure it out
