    a toaster oven

seriously, 400 watts stock is lacking in an adventure bike, most adventure bikes crank out 550-800 watts, it takes 250watts just to keep the stock lighting, fuel pump and instruments going , the remaining 150 is gone before yo know it, incomplete heated gear riding solo will use that

unlike Terry (RealShelby) I plan to retain the stock system, I will have 1000 watts available once I get it installed, I would like to have electricity available for complete rider and pillion heated gear and auxiliary lighting with some to spare. Reason for single sided exhaust is to make room for auxiliary battery box

yep, already done that twice... exhaust clamps, I can get at all of em except 1 with a box end, the clamp on the rear cylinder head pipe outlet will require a deep socket, + u joint and extension that I do have

I have been thinking I should order some Kroil, I have heard it works better than PB Blaster

    Re: V-strom build

I was able to get at the rear headpipe clamp once I got the right side muffler out of the way with a box end

    but now,

my EazyRizer is malfunctioning, not sure what I did, I can't get it to go down. I have my exhaust disconnected and loose, just can't fish it out with the mount setup I used, it was easier to get at the bolts and works better for working on the alternator, but I have to lower it down to take one side of the footpeg mount (EazyRizer footpeg mount, not bike)to fish the exhaust H pipe out and put the Y pipe in. Luckily, its situated right under a beam that I can support the weight by hanging it while I get the footpeg mount out of the way, but eventually when the project is done, I will have to lower the bike when I finish the project

    Re: V-strom build

I dropped my bike off at my local fabricator today, to fabricate a mid pipe, put the stock muffler back on so that I didn't have to ride there with a straight pipe

get in my GFs car as she followed me another customer parked beside us backed out and right into my bike, crunch, broke front left turn signal, clutch lever, hand guard and bar end, fucking asshole with no insurance

    Re: V-strom build

On a good note, the short 6 mile ride to the shop riding with 2 into 1 exhaust, was noticeable smoother and zippier performance in the <4000 rpm range where VStrom 1000s often stumble

Thought about changing out the headlights for an LED setup? I dunno if they have replacement LED projectors, but they take a hell of a lot less juice than halogens do.

the primary purpose of the auxiliary charging system is extra juice for heated gear for 2up sub freezing rides

going to LED headlamp would gain about 75watts, only a small dent in the needs to meet my goal, I would still need the auxiliary charging system
