how would these perfom on a trackday with a meduim fast person riding? I'd like to give something like this a shot but i'm weary about grip...

The original Road was never intended as a track day tire due to its compound, though it can do it very well for the average rider. If you are cutting hot laps, you will just destroy it. The characteristics that made it a great wet weather tire will having it succumbing to fast track dry weather laps very quickly.

so it will still grip jsut wear out faster? i street ride mostly....occasional trackday...i just dont want to worry about my tires if i decide i want to do one or an agressive street ride...

Wearing out faster is only part of it.

You will overheat the compound, and it will just get greasy and provide no more traction. The tire may still have tread, but it would be useless as a street tire after that.
