If you get the chance to ride or own one, I would take it! I feel like they can be had for like $7k
    $7k?

A friend just sent me a facebook marketplace link to one for sale in MA, a 2012, for $12k

Get a red one, the paint work on that bike was amazing. also look for an -12 up, as they got TC and a larger fuel tank as the range was kinda shitty.
    https://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/ho...jhawley/360247

I never needed the TC, but on a cold morning it I would be not upset having it.
Pulled like a freight train till it smacked a HARD limiter at 157.

I routinely ran down squids on liter bikes on I91 in new haven on my commute home with a top case and high viz knockoff aerostich suit.

And it has a the most insane brake set up, a pair 6 pistons up front with abs. If you can get one with the factory luggage would be the way to go, as the mounts are hidden so if your not using them you would never know it had the capacity for it.

As much as i want to get another bike next year (something different,) i would not toss the idea of another v1200 in the garage, For all the crazy merits we've mentioned above, it was docile enough that my wife routinely would take it to commute on down the merit parkway.

I feel like this helicopter quote is one of the best things to ever be posted on this forum. It makes me smile EVERY TIME I read it.

I feel that story deserves an explication or a link to the news article.

It wasn’t actually that crazy of a story. I didn’t even realize I was being chased for what must have been a while. It was in the Catskills.

    Re: Superbike for the Street?

Well looks like it’s going to be a long winter now that this is in the garage. Good god is this a lot of bike for the common man like myself. Just a few 1st & 2nd gear pulls with old rubber had my pants tight and it does not like to be ridden below 20min. The Rotax power plant is just so nice and has torque for days.

Looking forward to get this back to some TTD spaghetti dinners this season as I dwindle out of racing. The spare wheel set was a huge plus for some slicks on one and street rubber on the other.

Any Aprilia junkies around? Looking to find resources for an evo6 full pipe, some OZ wheels and a lower intake plastic that the front directionals mount on to make this thing even more of a weapon.

I test rode a V4 1100 at Americade a few years ago. They put me at the end of the group, behind all the Moto Guzzi cruisers and V7’s, and right behind a guy riding a touring bike, with a passenger, who didn’t really seem like he had ever ridden a motorcycle before. That was a rough, slow ride. I rode it again the next day and ended up right behind the group leader, awesome ride that time.

Regarding “evo6 full pipe” - if that’s an exhaust, the Palmer track (maybe others too?) has really been cracking down on loud exhausts the past couple seasons. Less obnoxious is better for keeping tracks open.

The evo6 is a very rare full ti exhaust system but supposedly it’s not much louder than the Leo pipes that I have on now and the PO was a frequent TTD rider who had 0 qualms with the dB’s at Palmer or other places.

If it’s really a problem I’d probably take my 790 or the RS125 which both have stock pipes on them. First world problems I guess?

As much as I’d love to finish my Orange collection with one, I unfortunately am out of space but would make a good deal for someone with some trouble shooting experience.
