Last season I put over 5,000 miles on my GS500-F because I rode it everyday rain or shine to and from work. I also took a few trips on it. Generally I would go out for a joy ride on a rainy day. But this season I was avoiding the rain cause I have been rather cautious in trying new things on my new bike. But after over a Month of waiting for a nice day to ride, I went out on a great Joy ride with Flyer_kaz yesterday. It was on and off complete downpours, but it was still fun!

Really the harder it rains (to a certain point) the better it is, because that way the water just falls off your visor.

I rode in today.

Had a pucker moment as I came into a sharp left hander and found the road completely covered with goopy mud. Not sand, not gravel, sloppy greasy mud. Back end wagged on me a little and I slide down the road 50 or so feet before I got it slowed enough to keep going normally.

I try to ride year long if there is no ice/snow on the ground. I definitely slow down in the rain. My bike is usually under a cover - not so in the last week because it's always wet!
I like the Ark idea - save me a spot for San Diego or anywhere in Cali!

I hit something similar the other day.. SUCKED.. I know what you mean about PUCKER moments !!

Like everyone else, I'll do it, and most of the time its not that bad. Days like yesterday however, just plan and simply suck huge Donkey Dick...

My best friend lives in W. Manchester, so I slabbed it down there on Sunday morning, a little sprinkles here and there.
As I'm heading home on 93, just before the toll you could see the downpour rolling in, so I stop, put on my water-resistant rain gear, and press on.
That storm lasted till Lebanon, then I entered the second storm 10 miles outside of Montpelier. I've never ridden in rain like yesterday. So bad at times I could see nothing but water, not even the SUV with brakes on 15 ft in front of me. Scary. Of course, I got completely and totally soaked. Helmet, leathers, boots, gloves, my back protector...everything was wet. My rain gear is only good for the little storms, or the quick T Storm. But, thats NE riding for ya. Guess I should get some proper wet weather riding gear.
