Hey all,
I know a number of us on this board ride or race SVs or whatever.
I just finished fab'ing my first set of proto parts for the 1st gen SV. I mounted most of them on my bike yesterday, so road testing is in progress.
So far I have:
-Al tank mounts, weigh close to nothing compared to the stock steel assy. Great for use with upgraded shock w/ reservoir.
-Various sizes shock linkages, allows for varying geometry of rear suspension to compensate for longer or shorter shocks used. I was worried about the strenght of these against the steel stock ones. but even after 12,000 mi. of abuse, mine still look new.
-rear set relocator, 1inch up and back. for now it's a simple plate design. most likely will not survive a crash.
As of now in R&D phase:
- cf undertail (on hold due to major shortage of cf)
- crash resistant rearset relocator
- lightweight rear subframe (but strong enough for 2-up riding) mixing cf, Al and parts of the stock one. should be cool for occasional racer. my goal here is for it to be strong enough to resist as much abuse as possible (ie low-speed low-sides and drops)
- Ti axles....
pics and much more details to come.
