My buddies Z28 in H.S. did very low 13s on street tires. It would spin them halfway down the track though. With DOT slicks he dropped almost a second.
That's probably the fastest car I've driven. And it went around corners pretty well too.

I guess my point was drag cars never seem impressive when you haven't really driven a seriously quick car. 13's 12's and even 11's in a well set up car aren't that frightful to anyone that's a competent driver. It's fun but I wouldn't say impressive either.
