What type would you use with a PitBull Bobbin stand, the big plastic ones or the little aluminum ones?

Mark, you can use either. I have one bike with each of those and the pitbull works the same for both. Or is this a poll on opinions as to which people think are better?

I wanted to see what people think is more better. I've always used the little aluminum type and they kinda look like crap after a while..plus they didn't offer much protection in the one little get-off I had.

I have run both. No difference in terms of performance really. The small aluminum ones may be a little easier to get onto since you can see more of them but it's almost not even worth mentioning.

I run plastic ones now for the added protection. They have taken a few hits and work wonderfully still.

I've always switched to the bigger ones and they've worked well as sliders during a few moments of "miscalculation", both in the driveway (kickstand not all the way down) and moving.

As far as getting it up onto the stand. Never had a problem with either

I like the big plastic ones, seems like if you slide they'll do a better job of protecting stuff (and i don't really like the look of the little aluminum ones). as mentioned stands work on either.
    just my $0.02.

I use the combo ones ... little aluminum ones with big plastic sliders on top.

Did a wonderful job on my little getoff this spring. Plastic ground off protecting the bike and swingarm.

The SV crowd uses these ... Motosliders

They have an almost legendary rep due to lots of crashes and their ability to absorb the forces and sacrificially grind away taking the abuse instead of the radiator and plastics which are way more expensive. I am on my second set.

Stay away from the OEM ones ... they are brittle and break off.
Seen lots of pictures with them broken off not protecting the radiator.

Mark, the Woodcraft deals in "standard" color (Ti) work well with the 50th.

    Woodcraft-CFM :: Spools > 6mm

They're larger than most metal spools, and they're not as obtrusive as the polymer type. And they don't scratch much.

Using swingarm spools to prevent damage is a waste, IMO. They don't save shit unless you're riding (crashing) some pansyass supermoto.

I switched to the bigger plastic ones because I figured if I ever went down and the bike ran over my leg or something they would feel a lot better then the sharper edged metal ones. The plastic ones do not fit as nicely in the stand so they make it a little harder to line up the stand and lift the bike.

I've got the big delrin ones too... no problems whatsoever putting the bike in the stand.

wrong - lowsided with just the little metal ones and it took the brunt of everything - the plastics worked even better when my friend lowsided as well

    I got the complete set.

Was just trying to keep on topic about spools.

The front ones are hollow Delrin with the internal bolt core being metal.
This allows the entire thing to flex and grind away on a low side protecting the radiator.

The rear ones will fit just about any bike with spools.

He only has front ones for suzukis and some hondas.
