My trip To VIR this past weekend

Forgot to say the races were great , fantastic place, and way too many crashes.....

I left Friday 5:00 am rode all day 675 miles, 16.5 total hours including gas stops and eating three meals.. Longest ever day for me.. But the 120 miles on the Blue Ridge, near the end of the day, was the high point of the ride even with the Futura fully loaded I had a blast..

The roads down south are so nice this was my second trip down south this year ( the last I had the Mille ) .. I have lost interest in the local roads, I'm spoiled...

Sunday after the races I made it 300 miles north and hit a hotel @ 10 :00 pm -- Tired. All back roads 90 miles of BRP and 40 miles on the Skyline Parkway .. It was just curve after curve after curve, perfect roads, and light traffic for 3+ hours it was like a track day. Yea I even had to Pay .. Damm cops 55 on the SLP with 35 MPH limit. The roads are good for 75 + ASSHOLES...

Monday Left Front Royal Va. @ 6:00 am Home @ 1:00 pm... Only stopped twice for gas.... 475 miles.. 68 MPH average, YES I was Speeding ALL F'n day long, and did not have to pay the man again... I had to be @ work for 2:00 .. that sucked and is another story....

I think we should have a trackday there next year. I rode that track in April this year and it is SWEET!

I got a few Pics with a friends camera of Him + Gobert, Nicky + one of the Umbrella girls, I missed Maladin because Nicky walked past + I could not get both. We saw a few other guys also but it's all a Blur now.. To few days and WAY too many Seat miles .. My brain is still cooked..

I need to get files from the pics..

Yes schedule a track day next June or July, and I can work it into my normal week vacation in the land of the south and smooth fast KICK ASS roads..

That would be the best.....

How many people from this list would really go that far ?????

I guess we could make it a multi list event to get the # of people you would need. All the race guys would go I'm sure if you schedule it around race weekends..

Maybe we could schedule it for some time in the week before or after the AMA race and do the trackday then watch the races. The run an excellent school down there. I also know the track manager there (the big cheese in charge) so I MIGHT get favorable rates.

I would absolutely 100% for sure go for a track day down there... I went and took the race car down there for a track day and lemme just say, that track RULES! In the car I easily hit > 180mph on the straight, and some of those turns are to DIE for... literally... we had one viper who went off course and kissed the wall pretty hard and nearly died as a result... but hell, if you aren't stupid and don't push too hard too soon, its a BITCHIN track.

J/k...I love AMA. In 2000 I shook hands with the first 3 riders @ Loudon. Bostrom, Mladdin, and Yikes!! They still had champain on their hands!! Can't get that close in NASCAR!!
