    Tank Bag Question

I just got a magnetic tank bag for my bike. If I throw in my cell phone, digital camera, mp3 player, etc..will the magnets on the bottom of the bag mess up my stuff??

    Tank Bag Question

No you'll be fine. All those things use Flash memory which is unaffected by magnets.. oh unless you have one of those hard disk mp3 players, then keep it close to the top of the bag and you'll be fine.

    Tank Bag Question

I've been wondering this too...especially since I bring my laptop to work/class, and sometimes like to throw my wallet in my backpack instead of the jacket/pants.

i've stuffed both my thinkpad and my dell in my tank bag and never had any problems. i figger the laptop manufacturers or whoever build these things to be pretty robust these days.

if you think your credit cards are an issue w/ the magnets, have no fear... Mythbusters on TLC tested that out & you'd need a super mega mother honker of an electromagnet to change anything on a credit card.... in fact i'm can't even remember whether or not they were actually able to erase info on the CC magnetic strip

all i know is i had a magnetic money clip that i put my atm card in..and it stopped working. maybe it was a super mega mother honker of an electromagnet (it was actually pretty weak)....or a strange "coincidence"...

either way a store can still just manually type in your CC #, so its not that big of a deal.

Ive never had any problems with my tankbag effecting cell phones or credit cards. But then agian my bag has special pockets for my wallet and phone that keep them off the bottom on the bag

    Tank Bag Question

Just dont keep magnetic computer disks (floppies), or credit/ATM cards in the bottom of the bag...IT WILL ERASE THEM. As mentioned above, electronics that do not depend on magnetic memory won't be effected.
