    temp controlled color changing paint....

Here is a new paint that I can use on anything I paint.. it is a Black below 86 degrees and when it goes above that it becomes a clear coating that exposes whatever is below.. IE. the Red I used in this application.. so it is great for creating disappearing graphics / Stripes or revealing hidden Logos or sayings beneath etc... It is available in a blue and green as well....

    whoa cool!

might be easier to tell the cop "it wasn't me!" when they get calls about a red bike speeding down the freeway

Reminds me of the scene in Cannonball Run when the Lamborghini goes in the car wash one color and comes out another...

You ever consider spraying your neighbor's house while they're at work? Be funny as hell when it turns cadillac pink in June.

What happens if the temp is 85.5-86? Does it get splotchy?

I was expecting the regular color-changing paint which I was never really a fan of, but that is pretty cool. How's it look when it's on fairings when they warm up on a running bike? They won't get the abrupt temp difference like when you poured warm water on it.

How warm was the water ? just above 86° lukewarm 100°-105° hot 125° scalding 180° ?

how quick does it change with gradual change in temp?

If you painted your house's white siding with the black, would it stay black through the winter (absorb more sunlight/) and then turn clear in the summer so the white siding underneath reflects the light?

Color change is gradual with outside temp changes.. and unless there are un even temperatures on the panel it would be consistent and even..

there would be millions to be made to make some sort of paint for homes like this.. if concentrated correctly and introduced to a clear house paint... it would work exactly like that... yes.

the water i used was luke warm. it would be even more instant with hotter water.. with gradual temp change such as being in the sun it is much more gradual in change.. this stuff really is cool as shit

Along with roof surfaces. White in the summer, black in the winter.

So lets see... you paint a pic of a bike with nice dark grey slicks, then paint this stuff over the slicks so they look like rain tires... until the sun comes out?

Edit: Maybe add a few streaks of rain and dark storm clouds covering the sun, a few dark puddles on the road surface...

No, because as soon as the dark color absorbed the heat from the sun, it would change over to light. It is self cooling, essentially.

I doubt that the side of my house or my roof would ever reach the 86 degrees required to change the paint color during the winter...

I might be missing something, but if you have a black car, the surface temp is never close to 85 degrees outside in the cold winter, no matter how long you leave it in the sun.
