My terrible but story worthy night -- bike broken

So the nice started off good enough. I worked until about 10 pm then met Daytona440, McBiggity, Rome and his girlfriend for some pool at Jillian's. I totally handed Daytona440 his ass at pool. It was great. Humiliated to lose to a girl.

So on the way back home, Tim (Daytona440) and I get pulled over for doing 50 in a 40. No ticket, the cops were cool and even checking out my bike.

Tim splits off the head to his house and I continue on to where I'm house sitting. I hit a pot hole that came out of no where. Everything seems to be fine so I move onto the gas station.

    The gas station is closed

I continue on my way on a kind of bumpy road when I hear funny noises. Luckily it's less then a mile to the house.

I pull in the driveway and start walking the bike when I notice that I'm more then flat footed on this bike. My knees are actually bent. Crap!

Now I can't get off the bike because the bike is so low to the ground that the kickstand won't go down. I'm stuck, sitting on the bike. I call Tim's cell phone but I can't make an outside call for some reason. So I'm stuck holding up this bike then the sensor like goes out. So now I'm holding my 400 lb bike up, in the dark. I finally hold onto the bike with one hand and decide to pull the battery out of my cell phone and restart the phone. It works!! I call Tim and tell him to get over here.

Thank God I'm a busy body and have everyone's cell phone number.

And in a stroke of genius I tell him to bring his rear wheel stand. Thank you to the fine makers of the pitbull stand.

I finally can let go of the bike. The bolts for the adjustable drag link must have snapped in the pot hole. The bike was an inch off the groud, if that.

The rear tire hugger got smashed into my tail and broke. It was dug into my tire and I lost a lot of rubber. The bolts are gone and am not sure what kind of repairing that needs. I think that's all.

Oh, and I'm allergic to cats and the guy I'm house sitting for has two.

That's my night but hey, I got to bring Tim to school in pool

    It's been done before!!!

Sorry about your mishap... glad you're looking on the bright side

that sucks about the bike - you should go back and get some pics of this pothole - send it to the drag link manufacturers! (and post it of course). must have been a nasty one.

good luck getting it all better.
