High Test finally worth it ?

I am surprised that the spread from regular to high test is still at 20 cents.

Out of 3 dollars that's only 7 1/2 percent up charge.

I would bet if there is a knock sensor retarding the timing on your thing then maybe you'll make out.

Lets hope it stays that way. I have to put 93 in my truck or it pings (supercharged). Costs me an extra 3 bucks or so per fill up from 87.

I think the high test is made from the same base oil, it is just refined a little more. So the base oil cost is the same as 87. It just costs a little more to refine which is more of a fixed cost. I've been told the gas stations make the most profit on high octane.

I have to use high test in my car as well but the difference in cost is usually $3.8 per tank if you use the $0.20 difference between low and high. I have been seeing a couple stations with $0.30 difference lately too.

If you need it use it otherwise it's still a waste to use it.

I can't see why you would ever not run 93 in the Gixxer if it says it requires 93, it's a bike, it's not like it takes 30 gallons to fill the tank, you're talking about somewhere around $1 difference to fill the tank with 87 versus 93.
