I’m sorry Pete but if you were in good shape you’d be around 165-170 lb and have more muscle. And we all knew what they saying about the weight of muscle and fat don’t we?!?!

I to have been eating in moderation and am down to 184lbs from 192lbs.

Seriously, I was just eating too much. And in all honestly, I think a LOT of us do, often without even realizing it.

One day I just told myself "Pete... it's OKAAAAAAY to be hungry for more than 5 minutes!!!" So now, I reasonably watch what I eat and don't really eat much more than I have to. I was up to 180 or so and when I started this and over the course of a couple years my body went back to a more natural equilibrium which is about 155-160lbs. Yes, I'm a skinny fuck. And if I were actually in good shape I'd be another 10-12lbs lighter.

I doubt Paul minds, he’s a fitness dude and the camp includes fitness. I actually put a fair amount of thought into the “hungry” quote from Pete because a while back, I ran into a dude that I had lost touch with for a few years. He had been pretty fat, had struggled with it, and managed to get thin while we were out of touch. I asked him how he finally succeeded and he said, “you just gotta be hungry”

(He had also lost a brother and got divorced during that time, I guess those things could affect weight not at all or either way, too)

From the perspective of an old-ish weakling; I managed to hold my own and even felt better as the days went on and my body seemed to get into the groove. There's a big benefit in multiple days on a bike purposefully practicing and having fun (like two day track day events).

Hmm, kinda like using a sledge hammer to remove a screw. I have zero interest in these shenanigans. (although the 390 Duke is closer, the pro was still struggling with it).

The flat track video with the 750 is definitely a lot closer to what most of us mere mortals are out there doing....

Hahaa, this is very true. No need to handicap ourselves with a 750 to though!

Paul, Kerry, Myself, Sylwia... and a whooole bunch of TTD instructor chuckleheads all went down. It ended up being an awesome group of about 24 of us and we all had a STOOOPID silly time!!!

Best of all, no major injuries... which is a damn MIRACLE. But you better believe we're all feelin it and movin slow this morning, just as we have every morning since the first day.

I'm sure Paul will post up a lengthy review and if anyone's interested in my own more in-depth take I'll put together my thoughts as well.

Suffice it to say, I've been part of the TTD fam as either customer or instructor for creeping up on 20 years now... and the past four days was probably the most fun four days that this awesome group of people has ever had together. I'm not sure what was greater, the fun we had, or how much improvement everyone showed from first day to last. Everyone made huge strides, the competition was TIGHT, and we all had a fuckin blast.

My only complaint is no .50 bmg!
(The neighbors are building a little too close now... one errant ricochet would spell disaster.)

EDIT: Oh & Kerry beat Paul so I'm sure he hasn't been sleeping well.

Agreed, it was the best time I could have imagined. Renting the whole camp and filling it with the TTD crew was a dream come true for us. As this was my second camp, I knew what to expect and started off a bit more confident. That said, not having flat tracked since WVRC closed meant I was pretty rusty. I crashed a lot day 1 and that trend would continue even as my confidence came back. The main issue being the track started of with magic dirt (grippy) and ended up super glassy and slick on Days 3 and 4. This made for a really challenging camp and all the progress our instructors made that much more impressive.

This camp wasn't about my own goals, but rather about sharing my passion for learning with our staff. The results where beyond all expectations. The whole crew were smiling ear to ear for 4 days all while being humbled and challenged to the maximum. Every last one of them was left wanting to learn even more!

Speaking of WVRC closing... Unity Raceway in Maine has been converted back to dirt. Mostly running cars but they have had bikes there as a test, there's a chance they may do regular bike days next year.

Couldn't agree more... Once day 3 dame to an end I made a point to find an opportunity to individually pull Colin, Joe, Corey, Van & Andrew aside to privately thank them for everything they do. I said that, although I've been part of this TTD fam in one capacity or another since 2004 and we've had a lot of fun together over the years, this was unquestionably the most fun four days we've ever had together as one big crew.

If I had just one wish it was that the ENTIRE TTD crew, past & present, could have come.

... Oh & that we could have shot the .50 bmg!

Next TTD trip: Head to Alabama to visit Corey & Froggy Moto Tours?

Initial inspection says no, just bad bruise and some tearing of the connective tissue on either end of the ribcage, but still waiting on official word once they take a closer look.
