Currently ranks 4th on my list of tracks I've ridden and enjoyed.
1) Barber
2) VIR North
3) Loudon
4) Thunderhill
5) VIR South
Was 98 degrees all day, which is silly hot, but it's a dry heat so it's not nearly as bad as Loudon at 90 degrees with 80 percent humidity! Track had a really fun fast flowing back section where you could hold it pinned thru about 4 turns, over a blind crest, and downshift a bunch to side it way sideways into a chicane section. Turn 1 was fun because it was real fast, but 2 and 3 were boring and annoying, turn 5 was cool (entrance to the Cyclone, like a mini corkscrew), but 5a exiting the Cyclone was sort of like 3, so boring IMO. First lap first session I went to enter the Cyclone (again, think mini-corkscrew) and told myself GO SLOW because it's completely blind, tight, and a dropoff. Nope, still went too fast, blew the turn in and jumped off the curbing to land backside in the dirt on the steep hillside. Good thing I was on Hypermotard and was able to motocross it thru or I would have piled!
Either way any day on the track is a fun day and the Hypermotard was a hoot. Handled well and easy to slide all over the place. Sportclassic with Termi's pulled hard out of corners as well and surprised more than a few superbike owners.
