    I get it now.

    Hot and Muggy today...

Out of the 8 Bikes I saw I didn't see one person riding with gear as I drove in my air conditioned truck to pick up my son. The most I saw was jeans, gloves, sneakers and a full face, girlfriend on the back with flip flops (pooring rain on em too ) Saw a couple cruiser riders in just shorts and a beanie...

I get it, I really do. It is friggin hot an HUMID. You might just be driving 5 miles to a friends or to the store or home from work... Not wearing all the gear is more comfortable and less of a pain in the ass. I understand. Your choice.

I won't do it anymore (yep did it for the 1st 10 years I rode) for my various and well known reasons... But I get it.

    Re: I get it now.

I'm actually fairly surprised by the amount of gear I've seen riding around down here in VA lately. It's been hot and (well, humid is a given, it's VA), and I've seen a lot of riders with jackets, gloves, full faced helmets. Although, shorts do seem to be a problem here more so than in MA... I don't get that part of it. If I were to strip gear, it'd be my A* leather jacket, and that's it. I tried riding once in shorts a couple years ago and found it to just be incredibly uncomfortable for my boys... not to mention my legs literally getting burnt by engine heat and the frame. Ohh, and don't forget my chicken white thighs glowing in the mid-afternoon sun, that always makes a sexy fashion statement that would go quite well together with my awesome farmer's tan

my girl and I went out today and we both had gear on, granted we went down the street and when we got to our destination i was glad it was ACed because i was sweating like a pig. then we went home a grabbed the car before lunch because it was just to hot to ride in gear and not riding in the gear is not an option for me!

I ride ATGATT. Tuesday I was sweating my ass off and thought about losing the gear, then I thought about the pavement and decided to stick it out. I lived.

Went out for a nice rip with leaf today (who was in shorts, of course).

I am pretty much ATGATT, except when I take a quick ride down the strip.

Today was brutal, though. Felt as though I jumped into a swimming pool.

    Re: I get it now.

I ride to work almost everyday (today included). In a business suit! Icon knee shin sliders under the pants, textile jacket so I can feel the wind, gloves and my helmet. Ok I admit I wear dress shoes, but for the most part I am protected. I get the it's hot argument - because it is hot, but most of the time as long as you are moving the textile jacket is good.

This brings us to the Lane splitting topic (you stop movement it really gets hot!)

This was not supposed to turn into a "gear thread".

I honestly was sitting in my truck looking at this dude in shorts and a beanie on his "Hog" thinking, "Well, at least he is cool"

Wore all my gear to and from work.

Uniform with short sleeve shirt, boots and gloves at work. Either way, I was still sweating my ass off.

Apparently you didn't see me riding in my usual leather jacket, thick leather gloves, full-face helmet, combat boots, etc.

    Re: I get it now.

You guys are all a bunch of sissys.

I rode full gear yesterday, like every day, including full 3/4 Cortech jacket (not mesh), textile pants, boots. And the liner was/is STILL in the jacket, vents all closed.

    Didn't sweat a drop.

Has anyone ever thought of riding a naked bike or going faster than 5 mph? Moving air does wonders.....
