I hear you Ed. It's hard to say goodbye to a bike like that. Even though its 16 years old it still looks amazing. Here is a list of mod's it had.
2000 Ducati 996s 7500 miles . Originally Serviced by bcm ducati which Included, belts, rockers, dyno programable FIM chip, machine stock flywheel ( by Bruce himself). This a factory numbered S model with lightweight frame and carbon upgrades.

    Many upgrades including
    Magnesium 3.5 & 6.0 marchesini wheels
    brembo 4pad calipers
    Brembo radial master cylinder
Ducati Corse full floating RS rotors
    Onlins Road/track aftermarket forks
Revalved and sprung Ohlins rear shock
    Carbon can Termi half system
    FIM single injector programible chip
Twin Air intake filter with cage
520 chain conversion with 15/45 - Lowered gearing is a HOOT on this bike!
    Ferracci bar risers

    Carbon fiber:
    Headlight bucket
    Intake Runners
    Fenders
    Swingarm / chaingaurd
    Clutch cover
    Exhaust and heel guards
    Under tail tray
    Sprocket cover
    Airbox- (factory)
    Lower fairings stoneguard
This bike made 123.2 rwhp on BCM's dyno, and is a very fun to ride bike. Bike weighs 429 pounds as it sits with gas (weighed it on warehouse scale)

Maybe you should ride up there and buy it.

If I had the cash to buy it I would in a heartbeat. I'm trying to pay off my new truck and bike so I can buy some land up north in the next couple of years.

I thought that R1 looked familiar. Rada and I (separately, of course) had a little time running our eyes over it and thinking things.
