EX500 used exhaust pipes?

Anyone have any idea where I could find used, but in good shape (no scratches, no dents), aluminium exhaust replacement pipes for my EX500?

Pretty soon I will be getting the bike ready to go to sleep for winter, and will take the fairings off the bike and send them for repair and new paint. When I bought the bike the pipes were scratched and there is a little rust starting to form on them, so I'd like to get those replaced too, so when the plastics are ready to be put back on, the bike will be pretty much back to it's "new enough" look.

Brand new they go for over $228 for one pipe, that's crazy!

It's not like they're Muzzy or Akrapovic...

Someone told me I could probably find both for about $50 from someone who have them lying around their garage...

edit: I've checked on Ebay...haven't seen anything.

I know when my brother bought his EX that it came with a bunch of spare parts. I remember seeing at least one side of the exhaust in a box but I don't think it is in mint condition. I'll try to find it.

I'll be willing to buy your old ones off you depending on the near future.

I also know of a certain person who may want to sell you an entire Cobra exhaust system for your bike. That'll make it sound pretty sweet. Then you won't have to worry about two pipes!

Anytime I have asked Bone Yards for

Cosmetically Excellent parts they have told me they woun't guarantee anything. This was like plastics and tanks but I would be wary if all your going for is looks.

Clayton, is it hard to switch the exhaust system I have right now being 2 pipes, to only one pipe? Remember that I'm completly ignorant about that stuff, I would have no clue how to do the switch myself. I could try...but that might results in catastrophic outcome...

Would I have to change anything else to the bike if I convert to one pipe? And how much does he sell his system for? Thanks...

P.S. If I part of my old pipes, you will know about it. Oreocookie got second dibs.

doesn't matter which one of us buys em, we'll all kick in a few bucks cuz they're goin towards the Cheap Bastid Parts Pile either way

Check on a Ninja 500 forum for the cheap stockers. Ebay has a Vance & Hines full exhaust setup for $374.

Oh, yeah, I have a full system for an EX500. It's a vance and hines. We can't use them because only stock pipes are allowed in PTWN.
