    Talking Tire Recommendations

Hi All, I need to buy new tires for my bike and am not sure what to get. I have a superhawk and ride moderatly agressive, not crazy. I want a good middle of the road tire that is not going to break the bank. I don't need the highest end tire, but want something that will be good on the street. I don't race at all.

I know this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it! Thanks!

Diablo Stradas, Pilot Road2's, Mezler sportech's, Conti Road attacks, etc etc.

basically anything that's round & fits your budget.

The new Bridgestone BT-16 triple compound is getting good reviews from real riders not paid endorsement people.

    Re: Tire Recommendations

Nowadays, pretty much anything you get will be fine. Shop around for deals, but be wary of anything that sounds too good to be true, as it may be. Stick with a major brand. A sport tire(Dunlop Qualifier, Mich Pilot Power, Pirelli Diablo, Metz M3, etc.) will prob cost a little less than the current range of new sport touring tires(Dunlop Roadsmart, Mich Pilot Road 2, Pirelli Diablo Rosso) as these are the new hot thing. The sport touring will last longer though, so it's a trade off.

I'll be going for set 3 by season's end.

Between the Stradas and the Dunlop Sportmax's, I'd say I've found my two favorite tires on either end of the spectrum.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I'm afraid the only street legal tire we can currently sell is the Diablo Corsa III.

And the last 20K miles I've put on my ZRX have been on Qualifiers and I have no complaints whatsoever. They stick very well, work nicely in the rain, and the rear tires last 2-3 times longer than the Diablo's did for me. Regards, Jake

never had a good experience with them. my 02 R6 had some on there for a short period, i forget which, but they were probly the most decent out of all my experiences, but i think it was because it was just a 600. My 04 RC had a D208 on it when i got it, would slide all over the place and got terrible mileage. I have a Qualifier on my RC now and that thing will not hook up worth a damn, and if its been raining or in the morning when its dewey, forget about it.
I have a Mich PP waiting to be put on.

Bang for the buck? I had a few sets of bridgestone battlaxe bt14's. No complaints. They lasted quite a bit. Had a set of dunlop sportmax that came with it. They lasted for like 9k miles, the drawback was they didnt hang on too well at an aggressive lean. Now on the pilot powers. Love em. They are even good in the rain. Just my .02

+1 on the D208 sucking shit on the RC...almost highsided the bitch the second day I had it after it came loose in a corner...didn't recover it as smoothly as I could have, but it was a new bike to me...

Another +1 on the Pilot Power, that's what I've got now and I'm in <3333 :

Dunlop 205s....they are still available, still provide perfect traction for the way you ride, and wear as good or better than anything else out there...and cheaper too!
