    Re: tire wear

    you are way low...

they should be 34 front / 36 rear HOT off the track.

I got 9K mi out of my first set w/ 4 trackdays

my current set has 6K mi and 2 trackdays, and my rear still looks new.

    Re: tire wear

30/30 is way too low, I ran mine 34/36 iirc but I'm on different tires as the bike I bought had new tires. I thought running tires at lower psi generated more heat and so they wear faster but I'd ask the BostonMoto guys.

    Re: tire wear

1 - what kinda bike? (EDIT: nevermind, saw the 1125R in your profile)
2 - what are you running for STREET pressures? 30/30 cold is about right for the track, but way too low for the street...

4.5-5k miles sounds about right considering how low your pressure are.... Like Q said, that's way low for street riding. Bring them up to ~35/35 cold and they'll go up a couple more lbs once they warm up a little.

You'll have a little less traction available to you, but you're not using all of it on the street anyways and you'll get more miles out of them.

    Re: tire wear

Tires don't get hot when they're gettin used on the street But I agree... measure after you've ridden around a little.

Bootlick, I think one statement in your original post was worded in a way that could be taken two different ways & cause some confusion.... You're saying the only time you rode them hard was when you were on the track... And you're not saying they're track only tires that get riddien hard, right? You're asking about street pressures?
