So would that be 1 or 2 bike shows?

Does make you wonder that in the never ending search for lighter bikes, this crap is gonna happen. We'll all sit there and swing our dicks saying our bikes are the lightest, most powerful...blah blah...but at 100+ miles an hour this crap is downright scary. I would sacrifice some performance for a little peace of mind knowing my bike is safe. That is a very serious problem. I may be jumping the gun and this could be just a bad apple but IMHO Kawi should be pulling these bikes right away.

Lightweight components work great on the race track but not in the real world of bumps n potholes. Take mag. rims for example. What they have to do to the modern sportbike to lose a couple of pounds is nuts. Everything from shaving disc thickness (read less longevity) to dropping the amount of attaching hardware on those same discs (things the Yamaha R1 has done in past years to lose weight). Does it really make that much difference on the street? Just leave ya keys and wallets at home... doh.

where's the whole story? they were just bashing because they weren't as popular as they think.

i dumped it, beat on it and haven't had any problem. like you R7, you haven't had any problem w/ your R1 but few people have. what does that really prove?

100% agreed. Kinda why I hang on to a nearly 10y/o bike. BTW...what are you doin with that 426? I've gone dirt myself with the XR. Have you been out yet?

Hey Rye.. yeah before hunting season started I was out probably at least once a week with a couple of guys after work. But once deer season started the state forest is closed to bikes and I really don't feel like getting shot..lol.

No where yet. Just bought the bike. More than likely I'll be spending a lot of time in Foxboro/Wrentham area. I will probably make runs to western Mass...October Mtn./Pittsfield also. I'd also like to get passes for Maine and NH for the start of the season. I have been kicking aroung the idea of studding the tires and doing some ice riding.

Well the ice riding is all you Rye.. lol. But let me know about Wrentham.. I have thought about visiting there but never made it this last year. We ride the Freetown State forest most of the time. We did ride a practice mx track in Wareham one day that wasn't bad but being confined to the track got old after a while.

That idea is just being kicked around as a way to stay on the bike in the winter....but as long as it is not obscenely cold I'd problem ride the trails year round if its legal. Are you tucking the WR away for the winter?

Hey, what the fuck, stop bastardizing my thread This is about a crappy 10r, not about things cool like dirt riding and ice riding

edit: i'm picking up a extra set of tires and rims off ebay for my quad, and a bag of 1000 ice screws should be waiting for me at the local dealer
Rumor has it a ORV plate in the state you want to ice ride in makes it legal to ride on any lake/pond/cove with a public boat ramp
