I always put on new tires when I replace my powerband.

i've found that cars are much more aware of your presence if you ride without tires.

dunno if it's the sparks or the hideous noise, but it works!

KMF, I ride my bike with the tires mounted on the tail section of my bike held on with a bungee net. I get great mileage out of them this way.
