Any tires that last as long or longer and cost the same or less than Pilot Road 2s

Obviously, I'd like them to be good tires too... I've gone through a few sets of these Pilot Road 2s and like them, but would gladly switch brands if there's something better out there.

They get a lot more money for those and I hear there's little difference in tread life. I imagine they stick better, but I am happy with the grip of the Road 2s

    Road3's cost more than Road2's.

Dave, if it helps, I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another set of Roads. I'll be going Road3 simply because they don't make a Road2 that will fit the 19" front on my 'strom.

I was about to go for a set of BT-023's as they are about $70-80 cheaper for me. But I've just been so happy with the Michelins I am gonna spend the dough anyway.

If I were you, I'd order up a new set of Road2's and call it a day.

Whoops. Didn't see the part about price. Sorry. PR2s then.

PR2s it is. Order placed for my bike's 26th set of tires. Thanks for the advice, I kinda figured the PR2s were still the best deal, but wanted to see if there was something new out there that I missed.

The Conti Road Attack 2 rear lasted nearly 10,000 miles on the V-Strom before squaring off.

They replaced Metzler Tourances. The first track day I went to, it rained, and I equaled my best lap times on the Tourances with the RA2's - in the rain.

I road 2 sets of Pilot Road tires on my prior touring bike. Got 11-12K on each pair until scalloping developed or were squared off by slab riding.

I was satisfied with their performance and longevity.

I also burned through 2 sets of Road 2's on my Sprint RS, getting at least 10K miles from each set. When the Pirelli Skorpion (stock) tires on my Tiger are toast, I'm going with PR3's without question. I love the performance of those tires, and trust in the tires is a large part of my confidence out there.

I just mounted up a pair of pr3's on my sv. I look forward to reporting back in many thousands of miles that they're awesome. So far initial, 400miles, grip impressions are favorable.

Sooooo... I just checked through my not-so-perfect records... and found that I spooned these things on to the 'strom after a little over 12k miles. I'm now just past 19k miles and the rear is nearly done. So what's that.. 7k miles? Not the 10 I was hoping for.

I have more than double that on my PR2s. No track days, though. I'm aiming for 20,000 miles out of them.

That's awesome. Although you weigh like half what I weigh. And your SV is slightly lighter than my fugmeister. Still, awesome.

I'm starting to think I'm doing something wrong. The wear isn't even either, it is worse on the left side of the tire than the right. Maybe my pressures are no good!?!

BT 023 Bridgestone on Vstrom 1K heavy wrist and still look near new with 4 K

The should be like $70 cheaper than Michelin for a set

Street and mild dirt so far they do everything

Road crown causes left side wear, move to England and it will balance out

NHMS is run counterclockwise. Are you unconsciously taking counterclockwise routes when riding? Are you more comfortable going faster to the left?

Road crown does not cause left side wear, at most it will bias wear to the left a mm, maybe 2 mm with a real steep crown

left side wear is the result of curves to the left being longer than curves to the right when you drive on right side of road

this guy splains it much better than Lucy

Avon makes a hell of a tire. We have the Storm II on the CBR. It works well on the road and on the track.

IIRC, I have never been past 5000 miles on any tires on my 9R. I think it might be my commute/weight.

Just FYI...Pirelli came out with the Angel GT. Supposed to wear better than the Angel ST did. I had the ST and was impressed.

Love the conti toad attack when I had them and hears great things of its replacement. It wasn't out yet and I tried the new Metzler Interact on my ZRX. Won't know mileage for a while, but I am really digging them and the wet traction is amazing.

I'm no lightweight either. But the bike's first owner and I milked 12k out of the factory rubber. On the other hand, the Michelins seem to stick much better. And really, I do think I'm riding a lot harder now than I ever did in most of those first 12k miles. (Damned track days! )

I used to be lucky to get ~4-5k out of a rear on my Bandit 1200..
