    Tires for a SuperHawk

I have Pilot Sports on my bike right now and I am happy with them. I have decided however to try Dunlops next, I have never had Dunlops and have heard great things about them.

    Tires for a SuperHawk

Contrary to what Honda says, I ran the D207's on Dunlop's advice. Loved 'em, plain & simple...

(Only had the Superhawk for about 7K miles, so I can't compare 'em to anything else...)

    Tires for a SuperHawk

I have had a busy year with tires, new set of Dunlops this spring, the front tire was so badly cupped that at 3500 miles I swithed to a set of Metzlers. great tires for wet or dry roads, tire wear was the pits. about 2000 miles. I just scuffed in a pair of Bridgestones 020 I think they are called. they seem to handle well. They were recommended by the saleman a discounttires.com. as being somthing between the first two tires as far as wear and grip.. I have not yet rode in the rain so we will see.. Price was certainly real attractive if they last

    Tires for a SuperHawk

the only person who can make the decision of what is best for you on your bike is you, riding style, rider weight, bike weight, bike suspension bits, regional road surface conditions, etc. that being said, this is what I have run on my SV

It came stock with MeZ4's, I was very satisfied, they were waay better than the Chen Shen's that were on my XV920R, the wore good in beginning, then at about 3500-4000, they just started to loose performance and wear fast, the front was still good, I replaced the rear and then the front went fast. then as weather started getting cold, it became a problem even getting them warmed up. My next set was Dunlop 205's I was on road, my brand new MeZ4's that I had put about 3300 miles on in 1 week riding to Deals Gap & halfway back (rear down to cords on edges, no tread anywhere on either tire) had to be replaced, D205's were what I could get quickest, D205's lasted good and wore faily good, adequate cornering traction, breaking traction sucked, On the SV chop the throttle, and the rear wheel skids, and unless I'm mistaken, Superhawks like SV's don't have slipper clutches but need one badly. Then I did some real experimenting, Pirelli MTR60's SuperMotard tires, good grip, even on frozen pavement, scrape pegs in puddles, in temperatures below 55° and high pressures, you can get a set to last almost 5k, but in summer weather, 1-2k depending on how aggressive you are, you could toast a set at a track day, with extreme heat they get greasey too.
Next, I tries Azaro IIs, I love em, front tire has a weird profile, and it seems to keep it's shape, I just got 15k from a front and I've been getting 7500 rear, been running them ever since in summer about 35,000 total

    Avon AzaroII's get my vote

I just replaced my MeZ4s with Dunlop 207zrs. Big improvement in grip. They are my first ever set so I'll see how they wear, but so far I'm happy!

I've got the original Dunlop 204's (7800 mi.) on my superhawk and haven't had any complaints. Will stick with Dunlop and probably go with the 207 or 208's .
