    I think that article should say the bike saved him by allowing the lightning to go around his body, not through.
    My grandmother was struck by lightning, or side-struck I guess. Came in through the water lines in the house. Took out the well pump and she got hit pretty good.

    I wish they gave more back story. Was he on the top of a flat plateau and the tallest thing for miles? I've been in Moab out a good 30 miles in the middle of no where and run out of fuel. We were the tallest things for 25 miles and a thunder storm was way off to the north. It was the first and only time I felt a bubble of agoraphobia. My buddy was freaking out.
