Got a 99 that won't stay in third gear, probably a bend shift fork.
I want to just replace the engine instead of repair the gear due to the total amount of labor needed. My question is will a 2003 SV1000 engine fit?

Or has anyone come across my problem and what did you do to resolve it?

Or does anyone know of a good solid TLR engine for sale?

The SV engine should fit, but you got some differences in wiring, ECU, etc. Would be a nice little project..plus the SV engine is cammed differently, and has smaller intake valves...
If you want to give me that broken motor of yours, I'll take it...

The motor is mine . I would be helping with the swap and he has my yosh cans. I was hoping you would see this because you know the R and SV1K. Would you see any issues? I know an R motor will go in an S pretty easily. I know internally they are a little different, different side covers, etc. We should be able to use the R throttle bodies and ECU? Not sure about the oil cooler though. FYI two TLR motors sold on ebay last night for $375 for both. Both had issues but were complete. Do you think it would be an easy swap?
