    Tool request

Anyone out there have a T25 security torx driver/bit they can let me borrow?

The screws I have to loosen are just like normal torx screws but they have the security peg sticking up in the middle preventing the use of a normal torx driver/bit.

Apparently Suzuki in their infinite wisdom figured that TL1000S throttle position sensors were going to be a high theft item so they used the security torx screws to hold it on. Of course I figured I would check the adjustment of said TPS and what do you know it needs adjusting and I don't have, and can't find at any normal stores, the driver/bit to loosen them.

    Thanks

    Joel

can you use a punch to break the pin off or for that matter buy a T25 torx at sears and drill a hole in it?

    SVRACER01,

Yeah I tried the whole, drill a whole in my torx driver, but apparently I don't have the proper drill bits and other various tools, like a vise, to make this happen. The whole punch thing might work but where they are on my bike and what they are attached to I don't think it would be the wisest thing to do to be hitting them with a hammer and punch.

    Pinhead and AndyC,

Not asking you to go out of your way but, if you have seen these at Sears or own them from Sears could you tell me what the part # is. I went to my loacal Sears last night and looked high and low all through the tool department and they did not have the security torx bit I need. Not even as part of a larger tool kit. Looking through the Sears tool catalog the only security torx that I could find was part of a 60 dollar kit that is only available online or through the catalog.

    The search continues..................

Want me to go check my local Sears?

Edit: if you go here and enter your zip it will tell you what stores near you have it or when they can have it if you order it.

Wow Jaynnus your on the ball Picture an all - way to go.

Joel, Usually a harbor freight store or a real good hardware store would have them too. I bought a complete set of security bits a long time ago - it has almost all of them.

Good luck - If it was nice out I might have driven up to let you use them
    But not with this weather

    Andy

    Thanks for the replies everybody.

I found exactly the set that Jane posted the picture of at a different Sears store and bought it. Who would have thought that all of the Sears stores would not be the same. The tool dept. in Salem NH sucks, the one in Peabody MA is a ton nicer and has alot more different tools available.

Now does anybody have a carb balancing gauge I can borrow? I got the TPS sensor on the TL adjusted correctly now I want to sync the throttle bodies.

Oh yeah I would have replied sooner but my friendly neighbor who so nicely lets me use his/her wireless signal decided to turn off their wireless for a couple of days. Oh well...................

You must have got a lot done with no internet for days.

I have a balancer that I could bring to the track if you want. Have you viewed the TPS video for the TLS yet?

Yeah, I got a bunch of little things around the house done that I had been putting off for a while, got the shock swapped on the bike, adjusted the TPS (yes I watched the video, it was helpful I guess) on my bike, got the bike ready for the track day and spent yesterday taking care of some appointments. So I guess you could say I got some stuff done. It sucks with no access to the web though.

If you wouldn't mind me borrowing the balancer I would be interested in doing so. I don't think the throttle body sync is something I would do at the track but I can get the balancer back to you if you don't mind me borrowing it.
