First track day this wedneday, questions?

Did my first track day wednesday at penguin and all I can say is damn. It was a LOT harder than I thought it was gonna be. I figured it would be like riding on the street but faster. I have a whole lot more respect for racers now than I did before.

I will be doing more days next year but I was just wondering if any of you knew the website of the guy who photographs for the penguin school? I wanna see if he got any good shots of me I might have to buy.

I would love to but the cash situation just isnt so good. It cost me alot of money to get up there cause I dont have a truck. I had to rent a van cost me 40 bucks a day. Im hopin gnext year to get a cheap trailer and hitch it to my car.

Yea that is something I will look into the next time I do a track day but Im pretty sure Im done for this year. Im low on money and time off from work.

I made the mistake of starting trackdays too late in the season. If I had known I would have liked it so much I would have done it beginning or mid-summer rather than beginning of fall.

i even dipped into this summers vacation money to pay for a track day ... glad the GF didn't notice .. (=

Belive me Im hooked. Im gonna try to unload my current track bike (frankenbike) and a 1998 cbr 600 (Joey Camel). To get some money together to get a 2001-2003 600cc track bike. Then gotta add in some leathers, trailer, and a decent helmet and Im looking at about 6000 dollars give or take in track money for next year.

I used her for the track day, the bike just felt way too different than what I was used to. It feels like your sitting on a crusier bike the seat felt so wide and the foot pegs felt so much lower than my GSXR. I like having a little thinner seat and having the pegs up a little higher.

If anyone on here is interested in the frankenbike 1000 dollars, 900 if you bring cash.

Man, yoo crazy... don't rent a van, ride the bike That's what i've been doin the last three trackdays. If I bin it & can't ride it home there's plenty of people that have trailers & generally have an extra slot that go in the general Boston direction. I didn't even NEED a ride home last trackday but someone gave me a lift (Thanks again Jane, you da bestest )

Yes except I bet your bike has headlights, taillights, mirrors, turnsignals, a registration, insurance, etc , etc. All of the many things that could get me ticketed/arrested if I were to ride it up to loudon. I could give a crap less about wrecking the bike I dont want any points or arrests on my record.

xxdcmast what bike where you on? pic? Didn't know you were doing that trackday. Should have come by and said hello. I was the Instructor on the Honda Hawk with RC31 on the back of the tail. Sure we saw each other a few times.

I was grinning at the fact that I seem to remember a Fu-gly Green bike next to a handsome red bike on my trailer a couple of times .
As a matter of fact ,, she's back on a trailer right know ,along with the G/F's ZZR600 ! On our way to Narraganset for the weekend .
