I measured 500 times and still couldn't cut the screen down straight. Also was way too lazy to fill and properly smooth the crack.. but this is good 'nuf for me.

Think the bike will be yellow and white, someday.

Big thanks to pontifex. I now have a battery for this. No more borrowing the battery from the V-Strom for a track day.

Bike is almost fully repaired. I just need to replace the mangled bits on the rear set at this point. Thanks to some advice from Rada, I will be running a matched set of rear sets next time we try this.

I have been trying my hand at fiberglass repair. It turns out I kinda suck at it. Something new. But the body is better than it was.

Picked colors for it and will blast it with some spray at some point soon. Will be Kubota orange with a white swath through the middle of the machine. Found the paint at Tractor Supply and just couldn't resist.

Doesn't have to be. It has to adhere to the 20/100 rule. Looks good at 20 feet or 100mph.

Hopefully I'll have some photos by end of day tomorrow to see if it adheres to that rule or not. Although don't hold me to the 100 MPH part.

Great thread here Colin, and have fun with the toy. Looking myself right now. The "multi-color" note in your sig made me laugh, and in the last pic the Strom looks sorta jealous staring out from the garage.

Good point! I should change the sig. More orange!
The 'strom got hers last weekend.

The SV is a tough act to beat right now. Lots of well set up track SV's out there for not much money. I am very, very happy with the bang/buck ratio on this one. I kind of, sort of wanted something with that I4 howl and sky high power band. But honestly, this is 100x better for my personal needs right now. I am glad I jumped on this opportunity when it came along.

    Hope you find similar Mike.

Hey jasnmar, whaddayah think of this:

Freebie from SVRider. I need to modify the belly pan, but I think it'll be worth it.

I'll be sure and bring the rear stand anyway. Kick stand, no warmers, but a rear stand anyway.

As long as you promise to use the rear stand every time I approve .

    I think so.

    Then.

    Now.

Removed most of the questionable crimp joints. Removed all the unused and excess wire. Simplified the circuit a little. Removed an entire plug that served no purpose. Removed all the unused/cut off pins from the connectors and sealed the back of the ECU plug with liquid electrical tape. Ran a dedicated (and fused!) power and ground for my instruments instead of tapping the ignition. Cleaned up the starter/kill switch assembly. Then wrapped everything in split loom taped every 3-4".

    Hopefully that does 'er.

    Ah, yes, remember when.

Last night I got a frantic call from a friend. Seems he was standing in his friends garage. Friends friend was showing off their new "race" motorbike they'd picked up for short money. "It's very orange and it has a baby bottle under the rear cowl." Ah, yes.

Seems ye ol' wreck has changed hands once again. New owner is complaining about runs in the paint and excessive zip ties on the wiring.

Last time I had my hands on it..
