My big trackday crash

didn't happen on the track. It happened on the way home.

I was ten miles from home when a car decided to turn left in front of my truck. Total brain cramp on the part of the other driver. No injuries, but both vehicles are totaled. It was a mess. It says a lot for how safe cars are today because it was a hard hit but we both walked away with no injuries.

The RC51 not only put a big V-shape dent in the bed, it did the same to the back of the cab and shattered the rear window. Looks like some business for GMD to make sure the front end is ok.

My 2002 Silverado 1500HD crew cab was an awesome truck. 115,000 miles and all it ever needed was oil changes and a set of brakes. I'm really going to miss it.

I got the final ruling on the truck today (almost 2 weeks later) - it's totaled.

Front left damage, it doesn't look all that bad but the frame's bent and all the broken stuff underneath added up -


This is from my bike hitting the front of the bed.

Time to find a new truck; another Silverado, or maybe a Ridgeline or Tundra.

Next up is getting the RC51 checked out at G.M.D. Computrack.
