They are simple, sexy, and effective. After using both WC and Vortex I prefer the WC peg design. The woodcrafts just don't slip!

In general, the wc stuff isn't as blingy. It's simple, rugged, effective stuff that works well.

He should make sure he's pricing out the set that includes pedals - some WC sets do not.

sato and graves looked very trick/cool but im going to go with simple and rugged. like staying local as well. it just seemed odd that the brand i hear nothing but good things about is also the cheapest.

at 325.00 for a set of rearsets, i would not actually call it inexpensive.
but i am a Woodcraft fan, i have clipons, rearset, frame sliders, i have actually tested them on a couple of occasions and they work great.

Yeah, Woodcraft stuff IS cheaper than the competition, but not by half!

Like has been said above, Woodcraft knows their market and strives to make a part that works and is affordable. For instance, they don't use ball bearings in the pedal pivots as some other companies do. Makes things cheaper and easier to replace. On top of that, I'd be amazed if someone's foot could tell the difference on the bearing front.

Re: rearsets, why is woodcraft so much less expensive?

I have owned Woodcraft, Vortex, and Gilles Tooling rearsets. The only downside with the Woodcraft is that some they are not adjustable for different peg positions. A few offer a couple of positions, usually high or low mount.

For tried and true simplicity and quality, go with Woodcraft.

I have had crashes with both Woodcraft and Vortex and the rearset pegs on the Vortex literally shattered. The actual adjustable bracket was so damaged, it was unusable. This was in a 50-55mph lowside. They aluminum used is hard and brittle. Whereas, the Woodcraft is softer and made to grind down, acting more like a slider. This saves your bike from extensive damage. I have had 50+mph crashes with Woodcraft rearsets where te only thing that had to be replaced was the footpeg.

What they all said... the adjustability of the other brands requires a weaker design... Woodcraft rearsets are already designed to give the best position, so adjustment is kind of overrated IMO.

The only type I purchased, that came with the switch were the Gilles. The Vortex and Woodcraft did not and as mentioned, I had to buy a banjo bolt pressure type switch.

A separate note on adjustability, some of the Woodcraft do offer quite a bit. The model for the Ducati 848/1098/1198 has 12 positions (2 for the mounting bracket and 10 for the peg itself).
