Anyone use a trailer hitch mounted bike hauler?

Im looking at one of those small trailer hitch mounted haulers...cheap, no trialer tag needed...throw in the truck after you get to where yo need to..

Is it easy enough to load one person? My bike is only 350lbs....

    Thanks!

    Dan

I use one for my dirtbike. The limiting factor for street bikes would be finding a hitch that would be rated for that weight. My class 3 hitch on my jeep is rated for 350 lbs tongue weight, with a 260lb dirtbike, and the weight of the hauler at least 60 to 75lbs, I'm already at the limit. Does work well though. For dirtbikes, loading is not a problem for 1 person. I'm using a versahaul carrier. Tim

Hey Dan... we have one at our station that has been used to haul the BMW F650GS P bikes with...

overall it has worked well... although my father-in-law had one mishap where one strap let go (out of four) and for some reason the whole thing flipped off the back... luckily he was barely moving... you would have thought the other three straps would have held it up...

That does suck! I would probably have a 100 straps on it LOL... I think I have a class 3 as well....but my max toung weight I think is 400lbs so it sgould work ok as my small ikes are 300 and 350lb... The aluminum tilt ones look slick.....im a bit nevrous about the aluminum tubing that mounts into the hitch hole....Aluminum might not be too strong for that but they sell them and say they are good to 600lb??
