no, not looking for any attached (fold up ) ramps nor sides, rather a plain flat bed with the ability to place stake body sides or use a detached ramp anywhere along the sides

    Re: Trailer Recommendations

Had a little spare time today so I stopped by PROLine Trailers, in Miton, NH this afternoon, got a tour of the manufacturing area, looked at several trailers, no doubt about it, these guys build high quality aluminum trailers. I'm getting a quote on a couple different variations of custom spec open utility trailers, a 6'x14' single axle no brakes and a 6'x16' tandem axle w brakes. both built with no sides, but with pockets to add stake body sides. all open trailers come with full size spare wheel & tire, wheel jack, led lights, plastic fenders that don't rot out

the 6'x14' would be 3500lb gvw 2600lb payload and the 6'x16' woud be 7000lb gvw with a 5900lb payload

in a conversation with the design guy, he told me that they rate their trailers weight with no tongue weight, unlike many of the box store trailers that use up to 15% tongue weight to over rate the load capacity of their trailers

currently the largest open utility trailer they make is 14' but just started making tandem axle open utility trailers and a 16 footer would be a new item for them

    Re: Trailer Recommendations

One consideration if you are not already aware. In NH trailers over some GWR are required to be inspected. I think it may be bi-annually unlike cars trucks and bikes. I am not sure of the rating but I thought it was 3k. My box trailer is rated at 2990, partly to side-step this.

Also the tandem axle trailers will cost you more at the tolls on 93 or the Spaulding, should you ever use those roads.

seems as though there is conflict in the faq
Field Operations FAQs, Troop G - Division of State Police, NH DOS
Am I required to have my trailer inspected?
Yes, annually, if the trailer has a registered weight of 3,000 pounds or more. See Saf-C 3227.01(a).
    and the law

266:1-b Inspection of Trailers, Exemptions. –
    I. Notwithstanding any law or rule to the contrary, trailers of 10,000 pounds or less gross vehicle weight rating not used in interstate commerce shall be exempt from periodic vehicle inspection requirements, but shall be subject as other vehicles are to periodic roadside inspection by law enforcement officers to determine that they have the proper required and fully functional safety equipment.
II. The director may authorize properly qualified dealers holding utility dealer registrations to inspect trailers of more than 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, to determine whether they are fit to be driven, and to issue inspection stickers, under rules adopted for this purpose pursuant to RSA 541-A. This section shall not apply to full trailers as defined in RSA 259:37-a or semi-trailers as defined in RSA 259:98, and shall not prohibit other official inspection stations from inspecting trailers.
    Saf-C 3227.01 Inspection Required.

    (a) All trailers, semi-trailers and full trailers with a registered weight of 10,001 pounds or more shall be inspected unless otherwise noted in RSA 266:1-b.
extra $$ at tolls is not really a concern, if I am towing any long distance for personal use, it will be north to Jericho or VT direction, if I am on spaulding or where tolls are, it will be business related travel chargeable to a client

argue with a state trooper, no, other than saying oops, I thought the law was 10,000lbs, that is the argument made in court, if I receive a summons

in reality, I would only be stopped if a light is out or I have something flapping and or not tied down properly
