    Trailer Showoff

I'm looking for ideas and layouts of trailers so I want to see what some of you all have done to make your trailer more function able. I'm getting tired of doing the trailer dance sharing my snowmobile trailer with my bikes and moving things around in my garage each season I'd like to just have a trailer dedicated for motorcycles. (not to mention a snowmobile trailer is impractical, its height makes the ramps steep and low overhead means I can't set up a shop to work on the bikes inside it while on the move). So my plan is to purchase a trailer either new or used for next season but the problem is every time I think I've settled on a size or design I see someone at the track with a better set up and I have to re-think everything!!

So if any of you would like to help me out and post some pictures of your trailer inside/outside and/or have any neat ideas they'd like to share to utilize space better I would love to see it! If you could just post with the picture the make and size with it so I have an idea.. Thanks!!

Yeah Jimmy, enclosed haha I forgot to make that a point...

That's pretty much the design/layout I have in mind. But I want to go wider than that one and longer. I remember seeing someone at Loudon this summer had a pretty sweet set up where they sectioned off the front 4 feet or so and had like a bunk bed set up in the front for camping at races. Anybody know how long I should go to be able to do all that and be able to fit 4 bikes? I don't want to go TOO big lol...

Thats a nice looking set up! I really like the idea of the carpet inside and having the overhead track to move around your hooks as things change and want to reconfigure the set up. One thing I noticed is you don't have any hard anchor points on the floor. Do you find that you are able to anchor your bike securely enough with the etrack or have you had to make any changes to prevent tip overs?

For four bikes comfortably you'd wanna be lookin at about 16 feet MINIMUM.
I have a 14 footer and can only fit three. One front & center, two on either side behind it.

I'll post pics of my rig and a little write-up later tonight.

I use a Pitbull TRS so there's no need for any other straps of anchors.

4 bikes will require about 7.5'W x 14'L of floor space. If you want a separate living quarters section, you're looking easily at a 18'L box.

For reference I have a 8'Wx14'L trailer and I fit 5 bikes (back row 3, next row 2). The pic shows only 3 bikes loaded but you get the idea. The trailer has a vee which adds about 4 feet of length on top of the 14' - I use that space for cabinets and bins. There is a folding bed/couch on the left side and it can fold down with up to 4 of the 5 bikes loaded. Normally all the bikes are out of there when camping in it tho.

    Toy Hauler

We have a 24' and can easily put 3 bikes in. 4 would not be very hard at all. The creature comforts are worth it if you spend any amount of time at the track. We spend about 30 days a year at the track as a family and the TH was money well spent!!

    Re: Trailer Showoff

Why'd you have to show me that Rada?!?! LOL That thing looks amazing and probably a lot more practical for what I want to do. The only thing I've found with the toy haulers is that they are pretty much a camper first and garage second, where as I want to focus on finding a trailer that emphasizes the garage mostly and has the comforts of a camper built into it. Do you sometimes wish you had more garage space/had garage space that you didnt have to share with living spaces?

Oreo- I spent hours looking at that site for inspiration and i quickly realized that this is not going to be cheap!! lol

Not yet. Not sure I will. It takes about 5 minutes go into camper mode. When in haul mode there is plenty of room for 3-4 bikes and gear. It really is the TITS

VRV's are sweet, very expensive though. There are 2 used ones on CL...

If you like Rada's: there is a local guy in NY selling the same exact one on WERA for reasonable coin. Its in fantastic shape (seen it in person at NJMP)

There is a crew in NH that sells VRV style units that are closer to utility than RV, smaller, lower price, I'll try to find the name again today.

24' Continental Cargo enclosed car hauler with ramp door, $3800 or best offer... bet they'll take less this weekend.

Edit: Hah, curb weight alone IS my tow capacity. This is literally right down the road from me, FYI.
