Trailering a car AND a bike

So I'm trying to find a way to safely transport my car and my bike as I will be heading out to my companies other location for about a month. As I am also taking my dog and the airlines that fly into the area have really shitty animal policies I will be driving out in the company RV (which is scheduled to be moved out there anyway). I'm trying to find a way to trailer both the car and the bike but so far everything I've found for trailer rentals are either bike only, or car carriers with tire rails that would not work for a bike. Anyone know of a company that rents (one way) flat bed trailers that will fit both the car and the bike?

Ask Tomato (Matt) how he transports his bike to the track with his RV. He might have some suggestions for you.

If you can get a large enough flat -bed trailer , you just place the bike horizontally in front of the car, chock it and strap it.

I've done it several times using a Big-Tex 70 series trailer.

That was the plan but I can't find anyone that rents flatbeds that big. So far the best I've found was a 6'x12' with a max load of 1900lbs. My mini is little but not THAT little. For car and bike I need a minimum of 3300lbs.

With a couple of 2x4's and half sheet of plywood - you could build a deck across the trailer rails.

Trade the car in for a pickup and put it in the bed.

That would defeat the purpose of owning a small fuel efficient car

Instead of calling U-haul and the national companies, try equipment rental places that rent excavators , skid loaders and other such equipment.

Tried that. Problem is I'm heading to Montana and won't be back for a good month or more so I need a one way rental. Those guys all want their stuff back for some silly reason.

Re: Trailering a car AND a bike

Look carefully at the bike can it be disassembled enough to fit in the car and still have you drive the car ?

IN my civic if I pulled the rear seats and the passenger seat I could get a bike lying down in it.

Looking at that as another option. Not so much putting it in the car cause I know that won't end well but maybe putting the major subassemblies in or under the RV bagged so nothing gets oiled. So either that or the platform idea on the car trailer. Either way I think I got this figured out now. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
