some of you know that I recent aquired a pretty slick track bike from another member here. (Thanks again Ryno)...
It's a '96 GSX-R750 (big surprise). and when I got it looked like this.
I picked it up on the way to the first Tony's Track Day this year and ran it the next day in the rain...
When I got it, it was all primer and the gas tank had a half attempted repair to some dents. When I got it back to my shop I decided that I just couldn't leave it like that. This bike deserved better. (well, it at least deserved a paint job)
I had vowed to not spend a fortune on this thing. It was purchased as an inexpensive track bike and that's what it needs to stay. I was trying to figure out how to paint it and then one of my collegues had a brilliant suggestion! Alright, it wasn't exactly brilliant, but it was funny and would be cheap since most of the materials I needed were already in stock. so I called up my brother who runs a body shop and we got to work...
Bondo? No, we didn't use any Bondo...
I've still got to do a front #plate and paint the wheels in John Deere Yellow... But at least you get the idea...
