Gold is tacky, but that bike is certainly a step forward for Triumph design wise. It's also an interesting concept. Disregard 600cc racing, and build a sportbike that can't be directly compared... That way it can't get dissed as badly when it doesn't compete with japan.
Very smart.
I thought the jist of this bike is that by ditching the 650cc 4 cylinder and making it a 675cc 3-cylinder they can race in Supersport against the 600cc Japanese 4-cylinders just like Ducati gets to have 749cc V-twins and Buell gets to have whatever the hell it wants.
The design is better but the thing I want to see is for all the little bits you touch on the bike to get better on Triumphs. Little things like kill switches and all that stuff feel cheap on Triumphs to me.
kawasaki called and said they are missing some of their design sheets for the zx6
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Ah.. I didn't know 749s couldn't race in the US.
IMO with all this BS of the 1000s being too fast for some tracks and all the manufacturers doing different racing divisions, I would love to see a series that pitted 600/675/750cc bikes with 4/3/2 cylinders against each other.
Who knows if it would be close, but it would be more fun then watching all those identical 600s go round and round.
they should bring back thunderbike and race svs in ama![]()

I *may* have to go down to Frank's and order one of these today.
Depends on if they can get it to me in time for VIR. Is it bad for a bike to break it in on the track?![]()

I dont know if they had pricing or not yet, but I had a salesman at our local Triumph dealer trying pretty hard to push one on me.Originally posted by T-595 Greg
honestly can't see why it would be hard to break a bike in on the track. any idea what they will be charging for them?![]()
Woah! I may be a sucker for solid color bikes but that Grey is very sexy.
That thing could be super bling if you just put a few more gold anodized parts on to complete the look. Gold sprocket, gold fork lowers, gold rearsets, kickstand, etc..
Or powdercoat the last few shiny gray bits the same dull gray and give it a carbon can, that'd be pretty bad ass too.

I agree with Ben! That bike looks beautiful in grey!!!!!!!![]()
LRRS#167
I believe retail is going to be $8999
Here is a real life shot of the grey:
