Truck ramps for bike loading?

I want one. Would consider a set if it's reasonably priced, but really just need a single track to load the bike in the back of the truck. It has an 8 foot bed. Any recommendations?

I bought the ramp end kit at home crappo and two 2x12x8' peices of framing fir lumber about 8 years ago and they still work fine for me. You'll want 2 ramps, one for the bike to go up and one for you to walk up next to the bike

The ramps that have the arch in them seem to work very well. It keeps the underside from bottoming out.

did you do the welding? those are aluminum? thats hard to weld?!

I have a folding ramp I kinda want to sell. Realy nice ramp but it's just a little too short for the height of my truck bed. What kind of truck do you have?

If you're looking to make use of one for awhile I have a decent ramp I used for loading my 954 in and out of my 2wd ranger. Could be useful for deck heights of up to ~39" but I probably wouldn't go much higher unless you had a ledge nearby to bring up the grade some.

It's currently in my basement and my truck is currently forming a glacier if you're looking for something near term and aren't really sure what you want to buy.

edit: and I have the home cheapo ones too, made of pressure treated 2x10x8.5's

I bought a set of 12" wide aluminum ends and then affixed a section of 12" pressure treated lumber, I think about 7' or so. Works totally fine. I can load and unload my bike by myself into the back of my 4wd tacoma, although it's a little tricky if I can't gain about 6-8" by pulling out of the driveway so the truck bed is lower compared to my driveway.

What I was going to do was put a piece of plywood on the edges to build it up about 2" so that I don't have to worry about the tires sliding off the ramp. Also I am using the clutch and motor to get it up the ramp alone, that's kind of a no-no because the rear tire can shoot the ramp off once the front wheel is in. That would be a pity, hence when loading alone I try to make sure the ramp has good foooting.

If you want I have one of the extra aluminum ends. I'll trade it for free beer after skiing at Loon or you can just go to home depot and find them yourself for about 30 bucks.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll check out the home despot stuff, though I might just buy a prefabbed ramp with sidewalls since I think that might give me a little more security with loading the bike.
