    Visor Fog

Does anyone have a remedy for a fogging visor, besides a new helmet or stopping breathing when riding?

    Fog city: $16.00

Any wipe on is going to wipe off. These are a plastic stick-on shield, we use them racing.

I know some of the SCUBA folks out there like to spit on their goggles to prevent them from fogging.

Maybe continuously spitting on the visor when it starts to fog up would do the trick.

    ...or maybe not.

Yip, Fog City. I was very reluctant to use anything that you STUCK to the visor. But I tried 'em racing and was (and still am) amazed at how well they work. I have two helmets and four visors total, and I'll be applying it to all my visors...

i had those fog city things in my helmet last year and ended up taking it out, they worked good til it got cool out in early fall. once that happens, they seem to fog between the plastic and the visor... and aint nothing gonna get that out.

You didn't seal 'em good to the visor then. I used mine in cold rain (April) and didn't have a problem...

My snowmobile helmet is made by BELL and I don't have any problems with that fogging up unless it's like -10 degrees. My current helmet is a VEGA and I love it. $120 shipped right to your door.

you're probably right, i had taken it out and tried to put it back in several times cause i couldn't see out of it well after it was in. too much work and i am not a racer so i just crack the visor open a bit now.

I used to crack my visor, but yesterday I got a bug in the face (through a 1/4" opening).. so I closed my sheild and then it fogged.. that's what stared the discussion.

probably not even worth bringing up such an old topic but i recently used the Clorox wtih teflon bathroom spray on my shield, and it has yet to fog up...

if you notice a slight distortion with oncoming lights, you applied too much.... just wipe with a lint free cloth a few times t remove the excess after it has dried

Yup, I spent the whole $15 and bought a breath guard straight from Shoei for my lid. Works awesome in the cooler weather in the spring and fall. Pretty much sucks for the rain/humidity though now in the summer.

Riding home Sunday was very close to deadly

Between road spray and downpour the fogging could not be controlled.

I crack the visor (tinted) and wear clear glasses. Just flip the visor all the way up when it gets dark out instead of swapping sheilds.

But at night (e.g. the visor is all the way up) it will sometimes flip closed when tucked at speed.

I used a foggy and the fog city visor insert last season well into November with NO issues. I wear glasses too, and the foggy helps keep them from getting fogged up as well.
